Don’t you (forget about other songs from Simple Minds)

There are dozens of daily posts of Simple minds Don’t you (forget about me) here on Tumblr…. Let me tell you something, and please note, it’s just my opinion and in no way I want to influence you, dear reader, about nothing. Hopefully this post will open your mind to a larger horizon, broaden your likeness for pop music that came to life in the 80’s and to one of the greatest bands this world had the privilege to… well… hear.

Simple Minds is more, so much more than Don’t you, which by the way was not written by any member of the band. That song was written by Keith Forsey and Steve Schiff. I won’t bother you about this, you can know more about it here.

It’s not a bad pop song… but it doesn’t even come close to the perfection of pop achieved in a song like Promised you a miracle, for example. It’s a nice starting point if you have the interest of knowing a “new” band.

Personally I enjoy the Live in the City of Light version, but this extended remix shows pop music in the 80’s in it’s best form… and I even don’t consider it too commercial.

This is just my opinion and you can give the credit to it that you want (nothing included). Still a good moment though…

Cheers
